The Jolo Chief of Police Vows to Fulfill his Mandate

The Majestic Masjid Tulay Jami dwarfing even the Bud Datu'.
There are always good and bad sides to all things -- the Yin and Yang. Or else, the world is incomplete.

The innate and pristine beauty of Sulu in the southern Philippines has been largely protected because of the negative publicity that Sulu exhibits to the outside world. Rich land developers and investors would not come for fear that their investments would suffer in Sulu.

But keeping Sulu as "peaceful but volatile" as it is will keep us backward and stagnant for a long time. We can not compete with the world's fast evolving modernity. The Arab words are already competing against each other for prosperity. The Tausug are mostly Muslims, too.

How the Law Grinds in Sulu

Will Cocoy Tulawie taste the first rule of law justice in Sulu?

Sulu is always synonymous to a break-down of law and order in governance. No matter how hard the Local Government Units in trying to portray the images of Sulu as "Wow Sulu!", the images that have been painted since the time of the Spanish's failure to conquer Sulu are already indelibly written in the annals of history and in the people's hearts and mind.

It is in Sulu where the disrespect for local authorities is strong. The locals still solve their problems the old way, the way they are trained to do by experience: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a limb for a limb. Barbaric, but so biblical.

Bud Tumantangis still stimulates Bangsa Sug's Heart and Mind

BUD TUMANTANGIS is a song of the Tausug.

The Graduation Gift (Short Story)

Elsewhere in the world, December was a cold month. But here in Sulu, as the usual case in most of the tropical regions, the weather was just erratic—now sunny, next rainy—and it was hot today, scorching even.

The acacia and mango trees dotting the MSU campus were no match to the angry sun; their shades were no protection against the roasting tropical weather, only against the skin cancer that direct sunlight could give. Students and professors alike—unless one had fever—had sweats running all over their faces. The damp blotches on their clothes betrayed the sweats all over their bodies—especially in the armpits, more so, of those who forgot to use deodorant or “tawas.”

The BassaKao Arrests the Chief of Jolo Police for an Hour

The Ladies of BassaKao visit the Chief Sitin to strengthen private-public partnership for a more peaceful and progressive Jolo
Partnership between law enforcers and the civilian population is a must for the rule of law to work as it should.

The #BassaKao (Bangsa Sug Against Kidnapping and Other Crimes) core group visited the Chief Junpikar Sitin at his office today to convey the message of thanks of the people to the new-found energy of the law enforcers in Jolo in keeping the civilian population out of harms way of the bad guys.

I use to hate this man growing up because that's what they taught us in school

This is a repost:

I use to hate this man growing up because that's what they taught us in school this equation:

Aquino = Good.

Marcos = Bad.

But then i realized not everything they teach you in school is true. History is written by the Victors.

The Tausug Ancient Arts and Crafts Face Extinction

The Tausug people is a wonderful race. It pioneers many interesting innovations in their lifetime. Though most of the arts and crafts are now fast disappearing in the modern world, there are still vestiges of hope that some will be resurrected and preserved.
